In his 2006 State of the Union Address, President Bush stated he believes new alternative fuel technologies should be part of the solution to "a serious problem: America is addicted to oil, which is often imported from unstable parts of the world."
Ethanol was specifically mentioned by President Bush as one of the new alternative fuel technologies that should get government investment.
